Its Florida strategy began with the December 2020 purchase of 80% of Bayonet Plumbing, Heating & Air-Conditioning of Hudson (Pasco County) — an $86 million-revenue, 500-employee business serving Tampa and Orlando, with the founding Blankenship family retaining 20% — followed in May 2021 by Edmonson Electric to expand the Florida presence. IES is one of the few Tampa Bay acquirers that is a public company with continuous SEC disclosure.
